    Well, to be frank the first sgian I made (for myself) used a AC blade. It wasn't the damascus blade they offer so I really can't speak to that but it wasn't a very good blade either. In my line of work the most important skill a person can have is the ability to sharpen a knife...and I can sharpen a blade of good steel so that it's "scary sharp." But while I could get an edge on the AC blade, it just wouldn't hold.

    In any event, that kind of soured me on them although I like the long tang and the narrow width.

    Yeah, I bought a damascus blade from AC it was from India and very chinsey...
