I wore my charcoal waistcoat last weekend to the Loon Mountain Highland games and found it to be the perfect accessory to the chilly New Hampshire weather. You can see pics of it in the thread I started about the games.

Got one of the charcoal...very nice for the money. Did anyone else notice that they had Royal Stewart neckties as well?

Scored 3 of these vests this past weekend.
One pinstripe, one tweed and one brown cord.
Going back for a blue cord. These are very nice for the money.

I noticed that they're already on the sale racks at my local store for $19.99. Online the sale prices on some of them have dipped to $17.99.

A couple of months ago I bought a vest pattern and some black wool material to make me a vest. It's been so dang hot that I kind of lost intrest in making it. Guess it's time to get off my butt and get working on it.

Since the wife and I are going to be near a Target tonight, I'll have to peek in and see what they have on hand.

Today I received two vests – herringbone (gray) brown and herringbone charcoal.

I think that they are very useful and attractive for the price.

I see what the size issue is now. The front of the tag reads “Updated Relaxed Fit” and the reverse reads “This tailored vintage vest has an updated style and easy fit.”
In my experience “tailored” and “relaxed” fits in OTR clothing are opposites.

I ordered the Large. For my shape the fit is good over a mid-weight shirt and undershirt. As long as I’m standing that is. When I sit the vest gets tight.

Pre-kilted this would have not been an issue because I have a half-dozen or more vests that I wear casually and I commonly leave them unbuttoned. But to my eyes with a kilt a vest looks better closed.

Anyone wear a vest open? For Casual: No belt with closed vest but belt with open vest?

Other: The pockets on my vests are partially sewn closed along the openings but if that stitching is removed then the pockets are fully functional.
