Let's see, if the buttered side ALWAYS lands down, that would mean that the unbuttered side would NEVER land down. If neither side is buttered, that means both sides are the unbuttered side, and thus neither side will land down. Assuming the toast would never land on edge (after all, that's just silly), then the toast will never land and thus remain spinning.
