Hello and a warm Celtic from Boston, Massachusetts.

The suggestions above are a good start to the kilted addiction.

I don't think I can add anything to the above advice. Welcome to the forum.

    from steamin' Columbia, South Carolina.

If you feel an affinity for the MacLeod of Harris, that's great. I grew up surrounded by McLeods, so I have a similar feeling for it, but as far as I know I have no family relationships there. It is a very good-looking tartan.

USAK also carries some universal tartans that may interest you. Check the ones marked with asterisks.

Caledonia is historically pretty old, but not associated with a clan. Holyrood is a very attractive commemorative tartan. I like Scottish National, Ireland's National. Rocky's own American Heritage is drop-dead gorgeous, as is Kelly's Firefighters Memorial; Isle of Skye is in a class by itself. These 3 are only recently available in poly-viscose fabric.

Look at some of the photo threads to see how accessories can be used. A favorite trick is to match the hose and shirt colors, but that's only one way. Enjoy!
