Hello and welcome from Houston, TX. I'm a piper and wear other clan tartans quite a bit as my own clan has only two setts that are in regular production. I've also met one other piper who has chosen the MacIntyre tartan to wear for piping as he has no clan affiliation. I was pleased with his choice! So, go for it.
