I really do feel sorry for the gent, hopefully in future his kilt purchases will have a better outcome. One thing I'd like to point out the "Designed in Scotland" tag like this one:

Is not used by StillWaterKilts.

I have seen this on Kiltmart kilts, but they are far less expensive than Jerry. They are also less expensive than the 800 price tag he told you.

Me too. I have an acrylic from Kiltmart. That's exactly what the tag says. It's my least expensive kilt for around the house. I didn't get ripped off. I got what I paid for, which wasn't much. ($50)

I almost bought a PV kilt with that tag last trip to the ren fest. I was trying on BW kilts, and they were less expensive than the wool one I got from the place that have tagless kilts with inverted buckles. Anyways, They had a 38 and a 42 in stock, one too big and one too small. They did offer to move the straps at not charge while I waited, but I declined. It would have been kilt number 2.
(Instead, I later ordered a Royal Stewart from Jerry to use with a Halloween costume, and then a Gordon from him a few months later after I found out that my g-g-g-great grandmother was a Gordon, and that one of her ancestors was a Stewart.)

If it had that tag, it's very likely not PV, but an acrylic blend. The PV used by Rocky, MacHummel, and a few others is a far superior product to the rubbish these things are made from.

Yeah, notice that they don't lie. It is designed in Scotland (as in, kilts in general were originally designed in Scotland), and it is woven tartan. With what kind of fabric, they don't say. So while it is honest, it is also incredibly deceitful.
The advertising industry does the same thing with "free car giveaways" in shopping malls. They'll have a car sitting in the mall, and slips to sign up for their contest. But next time, look at that paper and the prizes, and you'll notice that there is NO MENTION of that car being the prize. It is a scam used to collect your personal information and sell it.
