What I was getting at is that some might think a kilt is inheritantly unsuitable for use as a Halloween costume unless, say, everyone is appearing in their national or ethnic dress. To make Scottish dress the mocking equivalent of a vampire or Frankenstein costume is something you should perhaps think about, I mean if that is your friend's idea of what it involves. This is somewhat of a stuffy idea I admit.
