Well then let's steer this thread back on course!

I just picked up Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K. Jerome

According to the wonderful The Dangerous Book for Boys it is a book that every boy should read and " the funniest book ever written"

I am currently finishing up The Dilbert Principle and a third of the way through Mark Obmascik's The Big Year (all about birding)

    Cheers

A little of both slants...The Desert Cries by Craig Childs....

Though, I recently spoke to Sgt. Ron Anderson of the Coconino County Sheriff's Dept here in Page, who was at the Antelope Canyon flash flood, and he says Childs got it wrong too. The current issue of Arizona Highways magazine has a great pic of Sgt. Anderson, with a bit about that tragic flash flood.

I recently spoke with Sgt. Anderson while on a tour of our local jail. Mentioned his pic and story and man, did he have details. Rain and the desert = flash floods....nothing to take lightly.

Even Smogville has the streets built and graded to funnel the run off that doesn't make the big canal overflow dealies to run down to the rivers....

Anyhow, The Desert Cries is a great book about flash floods in the desert.
