I wonder if he wasn't stretching a bit... $800 Canadian is far too much to pay for a Murry of Atholl Ancient kilt, anyhow, even at a retailer in Scotland.

I almost bought a PV kilt with that tag last trip to the ren fest. I was trying on BW kilts, and they were less expensive than the wool one I got from the place that have tagless kilts with inverted buckles. Anyways, They had a 38 and a 42 in stock, one too big and one too small. They did offer to move the straps at not charge while I waited, but I declined. It would have been kilt number 2.
(Instead, I later ordered a Royal Stewart from Jerry to use with a Halloween costume, and then a Gordon from him a few months later after I found out that my g-g-g-great grandmother was a Gordon, and that one of her ancestors was a Stewart.)

Thanks for the heads up Steve.
Whatever the truth its sad. Nice to have a site that can warn against scallywags that take advantage of trusting newbies and deliver inferior goods for the prices they charge...or sadly, as we've seen all too often, don't deliver at all.
You can have any two of price, quality, or service.

Wow, that makes me sick to my stomach. Even if he was exaggerating, paying half that is still way too much! It's vendors like that who cause some people to be hesitant about online ordering. Disgusting...

what a sad story. That experience could so easily put someone off kilts for life.

Atlanta Kilts
This is the same enterprise that rented a kilt, PC, etc. to my brother and gave him no instruction on how to wear it. I brought this up in another thread but did not mention Atlanta Kilts. I hope they turn it around or go out of business.
Respectfully,

Since we are based in Atlanta, we approached them about upgrading their horrible hose they were offering with their rentals. The stock that we saw was really about the lowest of the rung. A GB PV kilt would have been a VAST improvement over the acrylic kilts they were renting. EVen the brogues did not look normal. The work staff were polite and had a good time with my daughter, but my overall impression is that these guys were interested in renting for occasions to people who have little or no knowledge of highland attire (Our sample diced and argyll hose were met with confused looks-And when we explained that these were the more proper attire for dress outfits, it was replied that the owner made all the decisions and he wasn't there. Never heard back)
Anyway, this is not a place to buy, even though its offered. If you need a kilt outfit by 4:30PM today, then you might want to swallow hard and see them. If not, you got no business there.

There are unscrupulous people out there waiting for the un-informed to wander by. It is good to have a memory jogger tossed out to remind all of us to be aware of what we want to buy via the web. Thanx Wizard!
