Well done lad, well done indeed. The fact that you were able to teach your classmates something in the process makes it even better.

There was a recent news story here about a young guy in Alberta that was told he could not wear a kilt to his high school prom. He was not willing to accept no for an answer and started a petition. It seems that the school board has stepped in and has over-ruled the Principal, didn't want a discrimination case on their hands.
You may want to give this a try, do make sure to point out the fact that it is a case of honoring your heritage by wearing your national dress.

Under different circumstances I would agree, but not here... I respectfully disagree, because at this point, Isaac has created a situation where he has the strategic upper hand.
With the history teacher as an ally and on Isaac's side, that's actually a huge step in achieving his purpose.
The next step would be to continue to build and improve on your relationship with the history teacher, and perhaps other teachers as well, as may be appropriate. Then, the next time you may be able to get at least 1 teacher (if not more) to speak to the principal on your behalf in regards to wearing the kilt... And I guarantee, that will carry a LOT more weight.

As we would say in the old Navy (round shot, rammers, wooden ships, etc.,) Bravo Zulu! And as a former Prof (44 years in an institution, then I went over the wall ) There are many ways to tweak the tail of the administration, without doing anything that they can come down on you for.
I only wish I had had more students like you (I did have some, but not enough) to leaven the rampaging apathy that filled most of my classes. It would have made my life much more interesting.
