Victory!
Previously, on St Patrick's Day, i was denied my right to wear my kilt to work by my manager.
see discussion here:

Sent my direct supervisor an email that today was :
August 1 (1746): Scottish Defiance Day, AKA: Rebellion Day
The Anniversary of The Act of Proscription - Put on your kilt, which was outlawed in this day by the Crown as an instrument of war. It remained a crime to use bagpipes, wear a kilt or any tartan for 35 years and 11 months (until the repeal on July 1, 1792, see section above).
Today, my supervisor and manager talked about it AND starting Monday Kilts are fair game. (Non-Regimental, of course.)

That's great news! Congratulations!
The bit about regimental may have been tongue-in-cheak so sorry if I'm ranting, but who are they to say who can and can't wear underware? You should wear it however you want, they'll never know anyway.

That is great news, I have been lucky in that my work has been very welcoming of my kilt wearing, I do not of course go regimental, for me it is much easier to keep people from being offended.

Another barrier knocked down. Congratulations!
I am a legal assistant and work in a law office. This afternoon, I was called into my supervising attorney's office for a review of the new revision of the office rules. One item is dress code. I have been wearing kilts several times a week for many months now and she has never mentioned the kilt either positive or negative. Today I was wearing my US Navy tartan. It is Wednesday and I always wear blue on Wednesday. I thought that the kilt might be mentioned as the rules are from the head office. Nothing. Only that the dress code is business casual. I guess that I should get a few more kilts so I can wear them every day. I love working there.
