Well, Hermann, that certainly is unusual, but what size are the utensils? If they are the same size as salt/mustard spoons, they will be just right for a kilt pin - although maybe a little small - but I cannot imagine having a normal sized spoon/fork attached to any of my kilts!!

Ah, I am with you when you say, "Now I just need the kilt for the pin!" I have several pins I have accumulated in readiness for kilts to put them on - almost enough to bring my Kilt Kollection to 100, in fact!!

If we're still voting, on the Leatherneck tartan the pewter look AEG (EAG -?) above all else.

OK - You got me there? AEG(EAG-?) Do you mean Eagle, Globe & Anchor? = EGA -?

It, along with the HALO wings is the only thing that looks pewtery. It's just tin.

I have four Leatherneck kilts now, and each now has an appropriate Marine pin! In fact, I probably have enough Marine junk to put on thirty kilts - Now there's an idea. Thirty kilts...........................

That's it EGA I had a 33% chance of getting it right (and I hit the 67% mark, go figure). Yes I certainly agree matching the pin to the tartan, I have a maple leaf on my Maple Leaf after all . Such is my unsolicited wisdom that I now heave upon you..

6 inches! But my kilt is rather long and I am rather ... well ... wide...

    So the proportions are ok!

Oh, that's alright then, Hermann!!! I had visions of you wearing a selection of cutlery around 8" in length on your kilt!!

    SECRET CODE ALERT!!!

They're planning world domination again. The whole world will be kilted, we won't be unique anymore.

I could see a Klingon insignia making an awesome-looking kilt pin, if its angularity doesn't make it impractical. For those who didn't spend the summer of 1988 reading every Star Trek novel in order, you can see the Klingon insignia on this mug:

Per the original post, I can't imagine anything better for the Leatherneck tartan than the USMC insignia, in pewter, black, green, or desert tan.
