My new kilt pins
Some of you may remember a sgian dubh that my father made for me late last year. When I arrived in Albuquerque, my dad presented me with these following gifts.

I love these and they are all mounted using magnets. My dad has certainly grasped the desire to 'personalize' the kilt.
Of course, I just gave him a set of Damascus steel sgian dubh blades for another knife.
I am sure my dad would appreciate any comments.

Pretty cool. I see the zia/chili connection. And I think I see a connection for you with the top left one (is that indeed a Georgia quarter?)

Why it is indeed. Actually, that is a bear claw mounted on the ZIA.

As a fellow woodworker I can appreciate the work that went into those beautiful pins. Give your dad a pat on the back for me.

They are very beautiful.
If your father decides to make more to sell, he may want to reconsider using the Zia sun symbol.
The Zia sun symbol is the figure on the New Mexico flag, but is actually a sacred symbol of the Zia Pueblo people. See Wikipedia Zia Sun Symbol
I know that he and you think of it in terms of it being "New Mexico". A gift from father to son is, in my mind, different than selling it in commerce.
When people start to sell things with symbols that are sacred in the original culture, it sometimes causes problems.
Otherwise, all of them are beautiful and beautifully made.
