Dress Kilts at Funerals

I was at a funeral in Dunvegan, Skye about eleven years ago, and was suprised not to see a single kilt. Dark suits one and all. Gaelic spoken. I think that was a shame; perhaps it took extra effort and confidence to go kilted; or perhaps they had become just too expensive .

...Just as an update...
I wore my Clan Tartan to both the Visitation and the funeral. Ultimately I felt that the darker pattern conveyed the proper amount of respect. The variation of tartan at the funeral was breathtaking. The pipes were played and the whiskey flowed. My friend will be sorely missed, but we sent him on his way in style.
