Welcome Scott. As a consumer, I appreciate your personal involvement to resolve a problem.

I purchased 3 kilts and two jackets from Tartanweb this past year. I too had concern that maybe I just got "lucky" when all had gone well. I am planning to purchase annother Argyle jacket and vest in a couple of months or less. I;ll go back to Tartanweb and will post results on this forum to let everyone know how my experience goes.

Having read Scott’s explanation, I feel assured that Scott means it seriously, when he talks about the importance of dealing in a proper way with complaints from customers.
When ordering a new kilt I shall therefore again consider Tartanweb a worthy possibility.

I am happy to see that Tartanweb and Den have settled the issue in a more than amicable and mutually satisfactory way, and that some faith in Tartanweb's product quality and business practices is returning to its proper place. I have been a pleased Tartanweb customer on several occasions and would not hesitate again to use them should the time arise, which is likely. Scott's presence here can only be a positive thing for this forum, us as consumers, and the Tartanweb family of enterprises, as has Nick's, Steve's, Rocky's, Matt's, John's, Barb's,....the names of the artisans and vendors are too numerous to list fully and faithfully.

I would like to take a line to acknowledge Steve's part in this "repair" project as being very critical and a nearly unseen one, as I am sure that a lot more happened behind the scenes between he and Scott than any of us could be aware of, and that Steve as administrator of this site is honorable and able enough to step above the level of competing vendor to make sure Scott had a chance to address this messy issue, when he could have sat back and let a competitor suffer, to his own business's advantage. I think this is particulalry important knowing that Tartanweb and its sister enterprises, to the best of my knowledge during my tenure here, have never been active advertisers/supporters on the forum. Steve, my bonnie bonnet is off to you for the classy way you handled this situation for the best of all involved.

Since I was looking to make a purchase from Tartanweb when I first spotted this thread, I have followed it through to the bitter end.
And since the purchase I was planning was not that of a kilt, but of an accessory, I have decided to go ahead with it.
Haven’t heard back from them yet, but I am sure Scott will be in touch before long.
And when I take delivery, I will be sure to post a picture.
    Regards,
    Mike

    Mike,

Scott has taken charge and assures me that all will be well. So, I'd go ahead and order with confidence. Yes, pics are in order, just as I'll post pics when the new Robertson arrives.

    Best,

    Donncha

Update on this situation: Scott Chalmers said the new kilt is done!........should have been shipped out Friday. Tartanweb is definitely standing behind me on this. When it arrives, I'll start a new thread and post pics.
