LOL! This is funny. Ive never thought of that.
I hate when people say "I could care less"....it's I COULDNT care less!! If someone can care less, it means they care a little! Seriously I dont know why people dont think about that when they say it.
Or "preggo/preggers"....I will roundhouse kick anyone who says "Oh are you preggo!?" when I am pregnant. Preggo is a lame word.
"grand baby" also annoys me. It's a Southern thing. I guess I only hate it because the only people who really use that up here in Wisconsin are a tad "ghettofabulous" for my tastes.
Oh, if we are getting on to words and their meanings - What is with "lucked out"? To my mind that means "out of luck" - or maybe not! Who knows - it depends which country you are in.
Regards
Chas

I am from Michigan and I do believe I used the term "grand baby" yesterday In fact, i may have used it in a post somewhere within this very forum. Hey, was that a shot at me!?!? (just kidding--not about having used the term. I really did do that)

Actually I wouldn't have thought of that word as being particularly "Southern". Maybe it is and I'm just oblivious.

Gotta agree. The term is used periodically where I work by some of our, um, clients, almost exclusively as a reference to their offspring's offspring, especially if said person is of insufficient age to have started school.

Offspring is sooo ..... impersonal, lol. I can only imagine how carefully chosen that word likely was.

As in, y'all are accusing us of words that ain't necessarily in our vocabulary! ![Very Happy](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
I don't mind the term though, although I agree about its general use. Our clients use it as well and with a similar meaning.

Re: What gets your knickers in a bunch?
You wanna know what got my knickers in a bunch today? Some punk with his pants around his a$$, pants on the way to falling to his knees called me a "fag in a skirt." He can't even dress himself! What makes him think he's qualified to cast any kind of dispersion on me? Gods... People can be so incredibly stupid.
