I'm in the STL area for a few days. Anyone know of a Scots shop around the area?

I dunno about a shop, but I've heard tell of a restaurant/pub called the Scottish Arms on S. Sarah St. in St. Louis that is supposed to be pretty good. I hear they have haggis and other Scottish eats on the regular menu, and the atmosphere is supposedly very good also. I got this info from a friend that lives in the area, never been myself. Hope that helps a little...

I was at the Scottish Arms a couple of weeks ago for lunch. The food is quite good and authentic (try the cock-a-leekie!) and they have a great selection of beers (Belhaven Wee Heavy on tap!) and spirits -- all of the servers wear kilts. The atmosphere is nice as well, but the prices are just a tad on high side -- but it's worth it.

There is a Scottish store in nearby St. Charles, about 15 miles to the NW Scottish Arms called "Thistle and Clover" -- you would need to take Highway 64/40 to I-270, and then north to I-70, accross the Missouri River and exit on 5th St. The store is located in the historic Main St area of St. Charles.

My wife and I love St. Charles; nice little colonial French town which knows how to keep its history.

    Cheers,

    Todd

Thistle and Clover in Olde' Towne St. Charles. I live just 20 minutes from there, I bought my kilt there as well. They have a great number of Scot stuff.
