Bodyglide
I just noticed that RockyR of USAKilts carries body glide. Has anyone here used it and if so to what result? As a big fat man I find it difficult to go reggie without chafing.

HIGHLY recommended. especially in the summer. Saves lots of problems and seems to last quite a while. One note, this stuff comes in several flavors (who knew) and one of them is a sore muscle relief type. DO NOT PUT THIS IN THE TENDER PLACES! I failed to check one day. I'll also highly recommend this product! I haven't seen the different types, just the regular. But I use it every time I'm kilted. It really helps when long walks or dancing is on the schedule. GET THIS STUFF.

I can highly recommend it as well, even if your not hefty. I keep some in my pack when I am out hiking long distance. Invariably due to sweat, sand, wet shorts and just the motion, you will start getting "warm" spots. Bodyglide for me just stops a would be painful situation from ruining my week out on a trail. I do concur with McGreggor, definately make sure your not grabbing the wrong "flavor" when you buy it. The make 3 that I know of. They have Skin, Sun and Muscle Formulas. The Muscle formula has the warming characteristic like other sports cremes that you really don't want in the, shall we say Regimental regions! As long as you grab the SKIN Formula your good to go. Has not happened to me but it did to a friend that I hike with. Not a good situation. Would probably have made for a good segment on AFV but at the time in the middle of no where....., but we can laugh about it now.

Thousands of runners and kilted can't be wrong - but get the athletic glide, not the flavored lube... I think that's for a different kind of chafe prevention.

I have ALWAYS had a "Heat Rash" problem because I perspire heavily there. The Body Glide removed the problem of the heat rash and chaffing. I use it kilted or not.
You can find it at many Hiking or Biking outfitters.

It works great for those of us with "hefty" thighs. I use it anytime I am going to be regimental and expect to do any amount of walking.

I use it for hiking and it works amazingly well. Lasts for a couple of days and sweat does not seem to remove it.

I use bodyglide regularly in the summer as well. however, at the risk of blasphmey, I chafe more slowly if I'm wearing something under the kilt. BOdy glide does slow the process down considerably.
