Speaking of Kilts at School...
Speaking of kilts at school, does anyone know of any school, anywhere, where the boys have kilts as part of their school uniform?
That would be pretty neat!

This Edinburgh school recently adopted kilts for the boys. It is not general for boys to wear kilts to school here though. http://news.scotsman.com/index.cfm?id=125672007

Doesn't the apron open to the wrong side?

Thanks, Turpin and Phil!
I had been searching for information about kilted school uniforms for boys, but I could only find boys' pipe bands. It was great to hear that some schools DO, in fact, have uniform kilts for the boys.
Now...for the next question...do you think this would ever fly in the U.S. ? Hmm...

Children's kilts were often fastened on the left side, regardless of gender.

The Queen Victoria School in Dunblane Scotland was founded for the sons of servicemen. The uniform was always kilts and tweed jackets with white shirts and school ties. In recent years girls have been allowed into the school also and wear the same tartan in skirts.
It was always a hallmark of the town that the pupils were seen walking in their kilts and a fine sight it was too. They have their own pipe band and also a highland dancing team.
