ALTERNATIVES to the "STANDARD" KILT BELT
Here are some of the "alternative" Belts I wear
Sam Brown Type- The pic on the jeft is my old LEO "Duty" Belt & the pic on the right is a British "Sam Brown"
Stable Belts- These are FUN, easy to get & inexpensive.
NOTE - One of these was bought from the Regt. ( I told them why & how I was going to use it & they said GREAT
One other was given to me by a "ret. field grade officer friend)
Yor thoughts.

As long at it looks good and as long as you're not in Uniform, it'll do. Those look pretty good.

Can you model them? With a kilt of course.

A belt has three functions: 1, to hold up the garment, or 2, to hang stuff from (like your dirk) and 3, for decoration. A kilt belt is (or ought to be) only 2 & 3. These meet the criteria beautifully!

Humm, looking through my British eyes, I am not sure about you wearing those stable belts. Sorry. I have to admit though, that you Americans seem to be more relaxed about these things.

I think the Sam Browne belts are a good choice, but the other belts are a little too 'busy' for my tastes. Just my opinion.

I have to agree with Jock Scot and Billmcc here.
In my 'umble opinion, a plain leather belt with a large single pronged buckle cannot be beaten for casual wear - brown or black to match sporran and footwear (or green, if you are lucky enough to have both Glen and Freelander 'specials'!)
Of course, a Dress Belt with waistplate, not buckle, is correct for evening wear - unless one is wearing a waistcoat!
Time to stop before I get carried away!
Take care,
Ham.

Not so fast Hamish! A silver buckle certainly is correct with evening wear, as exemplified in this photograph of Lord Lovat upon his wedding day:
