A Friar Walks into a Hardware Store...
I got a huge laugh today at Home Depot. I had gone in to look for some spackling paste for a project I need to start, but got lost somewhere around the window shades department. I was completely engrossed in the operation of a particular roller shade, unaware of my surroundings, so I was a bit startled when a gentleman came up behind me and said, "There you are! I've been looking for the other guy in skirt!"
I looked down, expecting to see a kilt, but I saw instead that he is wearing the brown, floor-length habit of his religious order. I couldn't help but to burst out laughing. He introduced himself as Friar Chuck and we shook hands warmly. He asked if there was a particular reason I was wearing a kilt, and I gave my raison du jour.
Then he explained why he was on the lookout for me: "A woman told me, 'I never expected to see a man in a dress at the hardware store, but today I've seen TWO!'" Standing there in the middle of the store, we regarded each other and laughed together at the situation.
I chuckled to myself all the way to the mattress store, which is another story altogether...
Regards,
Rex.
At any moment you must be prepared to give up who you are today for who you could become tomorrow.

As many of the 'blue nuns' I have seen, never saw a friar in Cincy. (I forgot the order, but I think it was St. Rita or somesuch down a few exits from 275 at Glendale.
