Burns' Night in Dallas?
Was wondering if anyone in the Dallas area was attending a Burns' Night (in particular the one hosted by The Scottish Society of Dallas, if there are multiple)? I know it's a wee bit early for it, but I was hoping someone could comment on how stringent their dress code is? I know it's "black tie", but I'm hoping what I've got now will suffice.
- Navy blue PC w/ waistcoat
- 8-yd 16 oz traditional kilt
- Black semi-formal sporran with white bovine front
- Black ghillies, plain coloured hose, matching tartan flashes
- No sgian dubh at this point but planning on getting one soon (maybe this one)
- Guess I need a wing-tip shirt and bow tie, too
I just don't want to be the poor chap in the corner everyone is sniggering at
