need info.
I have a piece of antler that I want to use for a knife handle, have researched how to attach it to the blade, but would like some more info. Am currently soaking it in water to soften the pith, is there a better way? Any help would be appreciated.

The water soak is pretty old school, but it works well.
I have gotten my best results by drilling the pith, two holes at tang thickness, spaced tang width apart.
Then epoxy the blade in place and cure, then drill antler - epoxy - tang - epoxy - antler for the cross pins.
Then a relatively small pour of poor man's pewter for the bolster.
