While going to the store....
This afternoon I was heading into the local supermarket. As I neared the doors. I saw three little old white haired ladies chatting to each other. As I approached one of them looked me up and down and said "Now, doesn't that remind you of home?" I knew by the accent that they weren't from Texas!! As I passed by, one of them noticed the label on the rear and she spoke up, "Freedom Kilt?!? Well, how free is it?" I just smiled and said "Wonderful!" and carried on, hearing them chuckle behind me.

Great story Mikey!
You made some hearts soar.
Weird, Splash4....I seem to get the most approving compliments from high school aged males in gang banger dress.....go figure....

I would have to agree, in my experience the older ladies just love the kilt and the younger ones just give me a wierd look.
Maybe it just has to do with maturity, as far as young lads I've never heard a bad word from one, I get all the usual questions.
I just love it when an older lady or gentleman has a compliment for me, especially if they have a scottish accent. I cant explain it but they say I made their day and really they made mine.

I was in the Eddie Bauer Outlet in Williamsburg, VA, and an employee came over to say how nice it was to see the kilt. She was "older", and came from Glasgow. I had a number of positive comments in "Colonial Williamsburg" as well. I was wearing a Stillwater Economy! (Leatherneck)
Now I know it would be nice to have a traditional 8yd, but the budget allows for what I have.
In the future I will have Rocky make a semi-trad with the German National, but that is a bit down the road.
