Took a trip to the Utilikilt store
I was on vacation in Seattle last week and decided to check out the Utilikilt store in Pioneer Square while my wife was at a meeting. I had never really seen a UK up close and was actually quite impressed. Also, the staff was very professional and fitted me for a kilt given my preferences (it seems, they tend to let their customers wear them a little longer than is customary for a traditional kilt). I fell in love with a black survival UK. However, being a good husband I promised not to buy a kilt without asking my wife. Needless to say I left Seattle empty-handed.
Anyway, for those of you in the area, I would definitely recommend a visit to the UK store.

Ah, I wish we knew you were coming! We might have been able to organize a kilt night for you. Last time it took a visit from Al G. Sporrano to get us all together.

Depending on your size, I'm selling a 36 M Black survival right now http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=24054 a little cheaper than from them new. Jeremiah is also selling a 48? in the for sale section as well.

You hit the nail on the head. Oh well.
Thanks for the info arrogcow. Your kilt is actually the right size but there is no use trying to argue against my wife.
However, with or without her consent I am going to buy a new kilt when I finally land a permanent position. Until then I guess I'm stuck with window shopping.

Sounds like a good place. I plan to visit UK HQ in a couple weeks when I make it over the hills to Seattle. Don't have the funds, or desire, to buy another UK (got 9 kilts, all UKs), but do plan on checking out the belts, at least.

I was there last October. I hadn't planned to buy anything other than a belt, but somehow a dark blue Original followed me home.
Racks and racks of UK's just waiting for new owners:

Yes Virginia, it DOES exist! Uncle Otto standing in front of the fabled "Scratch & Dent" rack:

(Yes, he's wearing some kind of sweat pants under his kilt...I believe he rode his motorcycle to work that day. It was quite cold)

UK recently opened their new store front on 1st Ave just north of Yesler.
I haven't been in yet only seen from outside...always seem to be going somewhere without time to stop.
